I will never understand how subtle changes in the conditions ( oil ) malfunction this system. I cleaned up all the oil it works but a lot of friction noise. The last time I tore apart the reel, I had to use some oil and it worked, this time it doesn't work which is weird.

Older video, but still relevant. I just bought Daiwa BG 4500 and 2500. Have only fished the 2500 so far. I have 8 lb mono on it and it casts far and reels smooth. Both BGs have excellent line lay with mono, 15 lb on the 4500. I also just bought a Fuego 4000 LT. I am outfitting to start light surf fishing in NC, haven’t gone yet. I have 20 lb braid on one spool and 15 lb mono on the other. Both have excellent line lay. Hope they fish well.

My spinfisher 6 became almost unusable after taking it out on the kayak in the surf one time. It makes a horrible noise and feels like a $25 Walmart reel when you crank it. I’ve since upgraded to the slammer and I couldn’t be happier. It’s worth every penny extra.

Only downside of the tranx is the line cap is over sold. The 400 is realistically a 300 and the 500 is a 400.

I'm just wondering if the refined the pliers a bit in the last 4 years, but I saw a recent amazon review that said theirs said "Taxes" on them too, so I assume it's still from the same batch.

From what I can tell the melee is basically a swimjig with a little thump. It’s not great for grass but man it kills it around rock and stumps

Penn spinfishers have been solid reels for a long time. Especially the of SS versions. They had a brass main gear. Not the smoothest but aolid reela.

Im a power pro guy, but i do have a few spools of Reaction tackle for my son, he goes through line like crazy its good for him while he learns how to throw a line into the tree line or around docks.

4yrs later, was time for a new Lexa 400 and I run into the video I watched to learn about my Lexa's, Still a great video.

Mine stopped working in less than a year. Collects so much sand and junk. It's not waterproof at all. Don't even attempt to reel under water. I rinse mine down after every use, and it still seized up, and something inside snapped. Now the spool spins with the rotor and won't collect line. I'm going to have to send it back. Complete failure. I needed another reel this week, so I bought a Van staal VR150.

Eason must have been disappointed when you suddenly disappeared from YT for your career with the disposable reel company.
